These 3 book cover designs were created by my brother, Erik Johnson, and me working together. His beautiful drawings of nature were inspiring to me as I felt they convey a certain mood and reflect some aspect of my novel's story. It was such a joy to visit and talk about images and produce something that we both loved.
There's one problem. I'm now stuck with 3 cover designs I love equally. I am forced to choose one soon, together with the publishers, but I'm leaning toward one of the top two. The 3rd option? I'm having a difficult time letting go of it. You see, it is a scan of the actual old book my novel is about (with embellishments), and I want readers to be able to actually see what it looks like. The good news is that the inside of the old book is also displayed on the other two cover choices. So I will move on and choose one of those.
After taking a poll in several different venues including: the Publishing company committee, Facebook, writers workshop, emailing, there is not a clear choice. My husband David even created a spreadsheet and weighted the votes and came up with no clear winner. So it comes down to me and what I want.
If you have any advice or comment, now is your chance.
I'll decide next week. . .
